Transcultural Counselling and Psychotherapy - Interview with Colin Lago Add Video

We enjoyed interviewing Colin Lago about his new book "The Handbook of Transcultural Counselling and Psychotherapy". This new book is a seminal work which brings together recent critical thinking and research and the exploration of the impact of different cultural heritages upon potential clients and therapists. Colin's passion is for working with transcultural experiences in therapy and this has meant that he has worked tirelessly around the globe facilitating thousands of practitioners to think about their own work and their capacity to be with difference in the therapy room. The interview is an opportunity to get a taste of Colin's passion for this work and to think about the implications for counselling training and our work as practitioners. There will also be space to share in the experience by putting your questions to Colin. This event will be the first in a series on Transcultural Counselling and Psychotherapy where we hope to interview many of the authors who have contributed to the book. Colin Lago was Director of the Counselling Service at the University of Sheffield from 1987 -- 2003. He now works as an independent counsellor, trainer, supervisor and consultant. Trained initially as an engineer, Colin went on to become a full time youth worker in London and then a teacher in Jamaica. He is a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, an accredited counsellor and trainer and UKRC registered practitioner.
